In conjunction with the upcoming Degenerate Art Project III: The Conversation Continues exhibition (2027), The Jasper Project is issuing a call for literary art (poetry, critical essays, and creative non-fiction) for an anthology of work by South Carolina writers in response to the current socio-political environment, nationally and internationally.
Tentative Title: Degenerate Art: The Conversation Continues
· Work should be original and unpublished in any format including social media.
· The call is limited to literary artists currently living in SC.
· There is no fee to submit.
· Poetry should be left justified.
· Individual poems should not exceed four pages, double spaced with 12-point font.
· Essays and creative non-fiction should be double space with 12-point font and should not exceed 1000 words each.
· Writers may enter up to five poems and up to five essays and/or works of creative non-fiction.
· This is not a blind Call. Writers should submit a 75 word or less bio written in the third person with their submission.
· Selected writers will receive a complimentary book copy.
· Selected writers will be asked to attend a to-be-scheduled book launch and reading in conjunction with the opening weekend (May 2027) of the Jasper Degenerate Art Project III: The Conversation Continues at Stormwater Studios in Columbia, SC.
